Report: Richest Homeowners In U.S. Live In This Bergen County Town

As it turns out, being able to afford the cost of an expensive home does not necessarily mean living in an area where the priciest homes are located.

According to a new report by Property Shark, Ridgewood is the only municipality in Bergen County named among the the nation’s top 100 highest earning zip codes.

Most of the wealthiest 100 zip codes in the U.S. based on median household income are on the East Coast.

At No. 95, Ridgewood homeowners earn a median income of $188,228 whereas the median sale price is $705,500.

The highest-earning zip code in the U.S. is 10013 -- New York, N.Y. Homeowners bring in more than $250,000 annually and the median sale price of a house if $4.1 million.
